Toby Skinner Generative Art Brand
'Brand' by Toby Skinner

Brand

11 well-known brands were chosen with their corporate colour palettes extracted from logos, online presense, brand marketing guidance etc and placed into arrays.

Each image uses a single brand colour scheme, the algorithm paints columns at 6px wide by varying heights (no more than width * 2) using a randomly selected colour from the scheme.

A slighly less-saturated version of the colour is painted just behind the stroke leaving a very slight shadow above and below.

From a distance the image looks plain and flat, a single shade of colour. As we get closer the full palette is exposed and close up we can see the minute granular chaos.

FAQ

Can this exact image be re-produced? The stroke heights are variable and the stroke colours are pulled at random from the specific brand palette, as such the exact image cannot be reproduced. However the algorithm will generate a very similar image given the same colour scheme (though not identical). At a distance it is unlikely anyone would notice.

Are there any other images on this website that were generated by this algorithm? Slight variations of the colour palettes have been used on some generative works but the algorithm itself has not been used elsewhere.
