Blueprint #4

Inspired by the aesthetics of classic sci-fi noir, I wanted to work on a Blueprint that could capture the overarching feel and depth of that universe. I love the dirt, the neon, the rain, the over-the-top hyper-sexualised advertising and probably most the atmosphere.

Working with the original Blueprint algorithm meant starting with at least 1 image, extracting points of interest and then triangulating that data using Delunay and Voronoi before rendering with chosen renderer.

Previous Blueprints focused mainly on just rendering the resulting Voronoi graph with clean thin lines but this time I used a vector field to create a rain-like effect with a very limited grey-scale palette.

The outline of a dancer can be seen as the 'digital rain' hits her and forms a silhouette.

FAQ

Can this exact image be re-produced? Yes, the points are deterministically extracted and the algorithm works directly with the source photos and these points. No random elements are used in thes works.

Are there any other images on this website that were generated by this algorithm? Yes, many algorithms on this site leverage Voronoi and SURF.

Is this a limited edition print? No

How can I buy a print? Please get in touch with your requirements.
